Colcord Schools is communicating with parents of students who will be juniors during the 2020-21 school year. Our school district plans to administer the ACT test in Spring 2021 to eligible juniors as part of the state contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT.
Last year over 95% of Oklahoma schools selected to administer the ACT. Our district strongly believes this is an excellent opportunity for all eligible juniors to take the ACT at no cost to them or their families. Additional information on why we chose the ACT can be found at 8 Reasons to Choose the ACT Test https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/scores/act-vs-sat.html
Should you have any questions/comments, please feel free to contact Deena Blossom at dblossom@colcordschools.com or Shawnda Benge at slarmon@colcordschools.com. I appreciate your continued support and hard work as we move forward with meeting the needs of our students.
Sincerely,
Bud Simmons
Colcord Superintendent
Attention Parents of Juniors:
The Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT want to make sure your child is ready for the next steps after high school. Colcord Public School and selected ACT as our nationally recognized high school assessment for English Language Arts and math. The administration of the ACT will be at school, during the state school day testing window in April 2021. There will be no cost to you for this administration of the ACT. Parents (of junior students) must complete the attached consent form and return it to Deena Blossom or Shawnda Benge at the high school. Parental consent must be given for students to complete the survey/non-test portion of the ACT.
If you choose not to give your consent, the form must still be returned and the test must still be taken. However, the non-test portions of the test will be blank on student reports. This includes reports sent to the high school, and any colleges or universities.
